Now, don’t get me wrong here. If you WANT to use butt plugs, that’s perfectly fine. Don’t cancel your Extreme Restraints order just yet. But they’re not a necessity, and you’re not missing out on anything if you don’t have them.
The thing about butt plugs, in my opinion, is that they don’t train your ass for fucking. They train it to carry a plug around. Those are two completely different things. Therefore, if you want to be trained for strap on purposes, then butt plugs are not necessarily the way to go.
Now, if you’re interested in butt plug training, that’s wonderful. If you want to learn to wear a plug for an extended period of time, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, I encourage it, if it’s something YOU want to do. But it’s not at all necessary for strap on training.
If you really want to know, no toys are necessary at all. Admittedly, a selection of dildos will make it easier, but if you don’t have those, don’t worry. You can train yourself using nothing but lube and your fingers!
But if you’re wondering what I would recommend as far as anal training phone sex goes, I’ll be happy to tell you. I recommend a high-quality lube, a silicone dildo or two, and possibly some gloves and condoms to make cleanup a bit easier.
Here, I have to insert my obligatory warning. As nice as silicone lube is, do NOT use it with silicone toys, or you’ll end up with an awful mess that might even ruin your toys. If you have toys made of another material, however, silicone lube is fine and probably superior to any other type. But for those silicone toys, use water-based or oil-based lube. I prefer oil-based, so long as no condoms are involved because oil-based lubes degrade condoms. So if you’re using condoms and silicone toys, stick with the water-based stuff.
That being said, if you don’t have toys, that’s ok, too. We’ll make it work with nothing but your fingers and some lube. I have a large selection of toys, personally, but I have been collecting them for quite some time now. If you haven’t been, especially if you’re just starting out, there’s nothing wrong with not having all the fancy tools. We’ll make it work with what we’ve got on hand, if you’ll excuse the terrible pun.
